KSL is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy: we decide why and how it's processed.
2. What we collect, and why
We collect personal information directly from you in two ways:
Contact form
When you use the contact form (/contact), we collect your name, email address, company (optional) and message.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and to take steps you request before entering into a contract with us.
Analytics cookies
If you accept analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, we use Google Analytics
to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). See
below.
Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. How long we keep it
TODO(owner): confirm how long contact-form enquiries are kept once an enquiry is closed or goes cold (e.g. a fixed number of months, or "until you ask us to delete it"), and how long Google Analytics is configured to retain data in its own settings. Until this is confirmed, no enquiry data has a defined deletion date, which UK GDPR requires it to have.
4. Who we share it with
We use the following processors to run this website:
- Supabase -- stores contact-form submissions in our database.
- Netlify -- hosts this website.
- Google Analytics -- only if you accept analytics cookies.
We don't sell your personal information, and we only share it with these processors to run the site and respond to you, or where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some of the processors above may store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, they're required to provide an adequate level of protection for it (for example, under UK-approved standard contractual clauses). TODO(owner): confirm the storage regions used by our Supabase project, so this section can name them specifically.
6. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
- Ask for your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, for anything we process based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies)
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in Section 9. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) , though we'd appreciate the chance to address your concern directly first.
8. Cookies
This site sets no analytics cookies until you accept them. On your first visit, a banner asks you
to accept or reject analytics cookies; if you accept, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies
including _ga and _ga_CY17QTH1L6. You can change your choice at any time
from the
link in the footer of every page.
We also store your cookie choice itself in your browser's local storage, so we don't ask again every visit. That's strictly necessary for the site to work as intended and isn't an analytics or marketing cookie.
